Mama of 2

So, my Mommy left me on Tuesday morning, which seems like a lifetime ago already. I was pretty nervous about my first day home by myself with the two boys, but it was mostly a success. We went to the library in the morning and looked at books for a little while and then Weston refused to eat lunch, so took a nap instead. Once everyone was up from their naps I corralled the troops and headed out on a miserable little adventure to the doctor's office to check on Davin's circumcision. Nice, right? Oh goodness, I won't go into the frustration of it all since it will just get me riled up again, but needless to say I am soooo glad that we are done there until the 2 month checkup. I realized that I don't really have the hang of this mama of 2 thing yet when at 7pm I changed Weston's diaper for the first time since 8am. Oops. It weighed about 8 pounds I think.
Anyway, the rest of the week has kind of crawled, but I've had some visitors and some outings and we have done ok. Today was one of the hardest days because I didnt have any visitors and only one short outing all day. Poor Weston was driving me nuts and I think I was making him a little crazy too. We'll get it figured out eventually. PS-In case you are family and want to know these things: Davin was 8lbs. 5oz. at his 2 week check up (even though he was only 10 days old at the time) and 21.5 inches long.

Typical Davin sleeping the day away so that he can be wide awake and fussy all evening. My friend Dawnie came to visit and play. Weston seriously adores her. So cute.

I'm Back!

I haven't had a chance to post since Davin was born, but I'm back from the new baby dead and thought I'd let you all know how much I appreciated all your comments and congrats. It has been a long first week as a mother of 2! I still can't believe that Davin is here and that I have 2 boys. So far Davin is a very sweet and fairly mellow baby. He is not quite as content when awake as Weston was, but still not a screamer. He just seems to think whenever he is awake he should be eating, so I feed him pretty frequently. Last night he went back to sleep after all his nighttime feedings! Yay! My mom is still here helping out until tomorrow morning, but I will miss her when she leaves. It's been great having people around to help keep Weston entertained and busy while I have been taking care of the newbie and catching a few naps. Anyway, we all love our new baby and are excited for him to continue to grow and change. Here are a few photos from this week.

Daddy and Davin napping.
Davin sleeping on Weston's bed while we were playing, but then Weston wanted to lay with his brother. He started making squeaky noises like him too. What a nutball.
Auntie B and Uncle T came and visited this morning and we all went out to lunch. It was great fun and Davin napped like a champ!
Grandma B with the boys and look! Davin is actually awake in this one!

Offspring #1, Meet Offspring # 2

Here is a video of Davin's First 24 hours. It also includes his first face to face meeting with Weston.

We got home from the hospital yesterday evening. Great Grandma and Grandpa Squire got into town and were excited to see the baby, as well as play with Weston.

Davin is doing great, although we are pretty sure he is already coming down with the cold that the rest of us have had for a solid week now. We knew it was inevitable, we were just hoping he would hold out a bit longer.

On a fun side note (and when I say fun I mean "Why did this have to happen today?"), we have no kitchen sink. A drain pipe coupling broke when we tried to unclog it. Unfortunately it appears that its an elbow joint in the concrete slab foundation. The fix for this will most likely involve a jackhammer. Luckily a friend in the ward (you may remember him from last years "Help, we have no freaking toilet" episode) is going to help me fix it on Friday night. Until then it looks like paper plates and take out. We do still have water everywhere else, but we just can't use the sink or dishwasher.

Davin Day 1: Still Tired from the move.

Well, It has been a fun, full (almost) 24 hours. This morning Weston and I made our way to the hospital around 11. He was very excited about the rumored presents Davin had brought him, and Davin didn't disappoint. Weston held Davin like a pro for a good 20 minutes. He just kept looking at him, smiling, and looking at us. After about a half hour of family time, my parents and sister showed up.

Shannon looked great holding her sweet new baby.

I really enjoyed the fact that Davin decided to take on my hairstyle.

Weston was such a good big brother today.

My Family...

All four of us. How come four seems like so much more than three?

We now have kids

Thanks for all your support and comments.

Shannon will be coming home from the hospital tomorrow evening. Give us a ring sometime if you want to come visit.

More Pictures

Well, I somehow managed to leave the hospital tonight without having taken a picture of Shannon and Davin post bath. I am pretty sure we will take a few photos tomorrow though. So check back if you want to see more... or if you don't you probably shouldn't be here in the first place.

We are doing great.
More pics and maybe some video later.

At the Hospital - Sitting, Waiting, Wishing.

Well, we are at a 6 now and the nurse is prepping the delivery table. Contractions are steady and strong, so the doctor thinks things will really start moving here soon. Hope to have a baby in the next couple hours (maybe by the time Grandpa lands).
