Swimmer

Weston is such a nutball. He got in to the coat closet yesterday and pulled out my Sonora bag and found all my swim stuff. He especially thought the goggles were cool. He then ran around the house brandishing a curtain rod and wearing goggles and a onesie. How did my son turn into such a nut? Never mind, no one answer that.

Visit

Being Silly at the Miller's!

Weston loves balls and his Grandpa!

Playing at the library . . .

Well we had a fabulous visit with Grandma B and Grandpa Bob despite the Face Incident. Speaking of which Weston's big cheek owie is pretty much already gone. His scab fell off last night and now its just a little pinker than the rest of his face where it was. Some highlights of our visit were the water park, the petting zoo and ducks at Gardner Village, playing at the Millers' house, the library, PF Changs and the Salt Lake Temple. We also had plenty of down time to chill and read the new Harry Potter. Dad's probably done by now and so am I. It was so great having my family here. I miss you guys! :) Thanks for the fabulous visit and Dad, for making us new shelves in our kitchen! They look great. Love you guys.

Petting Zoo

A little clingy while petting a goat. I held him for most of the goat moments

We missed the picture of him actually touching the sheep, but he did.

On Friday morning we all went to the petting zoo and Weston got to touch the goats and sheep. He was pretty freaked out by the goats and wanted to be held near them, but loved seeing teh rabbits in their hutch and the chickens and even seemed to enjoy touching the sheep! It was pretty cute. He also had his 2nd pony ride! Very fun.

Belated Happy Birthday to Ian

I wanted to send out the Happy Birthday (26!) shout out to Ian, my hubby. He is the greatest and I hope his birthday wasnt completely ruined by the Weston Face Incident. We ended up having Subway for dinner and cake after we got Weston's face cleaned up and put him to bed. Anyway, I hope that this upcoming year of Ian's life can match this past year. I love you babe!

The Face

Well, we had quite an eventful start to our fun weekend with Grandma B and Grandpa Bob. They got here on Thursday afternoon and then that evening we were going to go celebrate Ian's birthday with dinner out at P.F. Changs. We got there and then realized it was going to be a bit of a wait, so mom and I decided to take Weston for a walk around the corner and we were each holding one of his hands. We were playing the 1,2,3 swing game while we walked. About the third swing we said 1, 2, 3 and then swung but everyone's hands had gotten sweaty in the 100 degree heat and Weston went flying. He hit the ground mostly with his little face. It was pretty traumatic. Needless to say, we didn't end up staying for dinner. He is doing fine and healing up nicely already, but here are a few pictures of the fresh owies.

The injury a mere hour later. Sad little face. :(

The next night playing like a champ at the Millers.

Keeping In Touch

Due to the urging of family and friends, I have finally gotten around to putting together our Bowles Family Blog. Hopefully we will be able to spread pictures and news around a little more easily this way and I will do my best to keep you updated on the happenings of our little family and corner of the world. Newest news is that Ian recently got a promotion to Art Director at his design firm and Shannon just got hired as a Recreation Therapist at Highland Ridge Hospital in Midvale. We are excited about our career changes. Weston is growing and changing every day. He is adorable but still manages to drive us a little nuts sometimes. Today he brought me crayons while i was in the shower. Luckily he hadnt really used them, just found and tore apart the box. He is very into birds right now and waves bye-bye to trucks, airplanes and buses that he sees. He also is like his mommy and loves ICE! :) We are going through it pretty fast in this ridiculously hot summer weather. 102 today! Well, i will post again later and will work to get some more info and pics up. Thanks for checking us out!
