Mother's Day and Pete

Happy Mother's Day to everyone! Hope you all had a lovely, relaxing, fun day with your families. I personally had a wonderful Mother's Day. As mentioned in my previous post I got my special day started a little early with an outing on Saturday and then a big part of my gift was a full night's sleep Saturday night. Ian got up with Davin all night and fed him bottles and I got to roll over and go back to sleep. Yay! I think that was my favorite part of my Mother's Day. We had a nice slow Sunday morning then went to church. Weston sang with the primary and was so cute! He held up a flower and even did one of the actions to the song! I was so proud. :) That afternoon Ian bbqed hamburgers and hot dogs and we had fresh strawberries and chips. It was a nice meal. We talked to our families and then had our friends over to play Rumi Kube. It was a very nice Mother's Day. I even convinced Ian to give me a backrub before bed! :) Thanks honey for making it such a nice day. I love you!

So, now we are back to our daily routine. For our outing today we went to Petsmart to look at animals and came home with a new pet-- an African Dwarf Frog! They are pretty much the most fun water pets. Weston picked his frog out from the tank and held him all the way home. When we got home and got him all settled in the fishbowl I told Weston he should give him a name, and I gave him some suggestions. He wanted to call him Pete, so without further ado . . . Introducing Pete!

Early Mother's Day and other Gems

So I'm still working on getting my page back to normal. I had been meaning to reorganize my friends and family links anyway, so now I guess I have a good fresh start. Looking on the bright side, ya know? Anyway, I had a lovely early Mother's Day outing today. Ian watched both the boys while I went shopping and then got my hair done by my friend Debbie at her new salon. It was such a fun time away and now I have cute new hair! Yay. Here is a pic of my new do and Davin. I should mention also that I am wearing my glasses because I finally went to the eye doctor and found out I was having an allergic reaction to the solution I was using, so I got some prescription eyedrops and can't wear my contacts for 10 days! I don't think I've worn my glasses for 10 days straight since high school, so it's been a pain for me. Oh well at least my eyes are feeling lots better it doesn't look like I've been getting high in the bathroom all the time.

Funny story . . . the day of my "Blah" post I took the boys to Sam's club and Weston was sitting inside the basket of the ginormous cart eating a sample bagel bite while I turned around to get cheese out of the refrigerator thingie and apparently he tried to stand up and slipped in his cowboy boots that are a size too big thereby hitting his face on the edge of the cart. Since I didn't actually see him hit his face I thought he bonked his head, but another aisle over I noticed a line on his face and put together what had happened. Poor kid has a bruise in the shape of a line across his face to his eye. This was the pic of it, but you can't see it all that well. He's still a cutie, even with his seemingly constantly marred face.

Background

Soooo annoying . . . I tried putting this new background on to change things up a bit and it deleted all my page elements and widgets, so I no longer have a list of links to all of your blogs. If you could be so kind as to leave a comment so I can re-access your blog that would be awesome. Also, if your blog is private I may need to be re-invited. I'm not totally sure about that one yet. Anyway, hopefully I will be able to get things back up to sleep asap. Thanks!

The Blahs

So I've kinda been in a funk the last few days. I've sat down to blog twice and just couldn't think of anything fun, exciting or even really happy to write about. Life is just kind of slow and slightly depressing right now. Part of the problem is that I wake up in such a bad mood all the time. Davin sleeps ok at night but he always seems to wake up between 6 and 6:30 to eat and it's just such a crappy time for him to be up since it's earlier than I want to be awake, but too late to really go back to sleep after that feeding since Weston is up between 7 and 7:30. I don't do well without sleep. It just makes me so cranky and that's never a good way to start the day. Then I'm all snappy with Weston and that makes me feel even worse (mom guilt). Anyway, all in all it's a vicious little cycle. I truly have been trying to pull myself out of it. I've been exercising and reading my scriptures and playing with Weston when I feel really down, but it seems to just be welling in the background so quick to pop back up with small provocations.
Hopefully today will be better, but so far it's not shaping up that way. It's cloudy and gloomy outside and Davin was wide awake for an hour+ last night from 3:45-4:45ish.

I took a break since writing the above and went to Sams club to do some shopping. I was excited to find that they now sell the uncooked tortillas that you just cook right before on your stove. Yay. They are my favorite and until now I thought I had to make a special Costco run just to get them, but now they are right where I do my normal shopping so that's good news. Anyway, getting back into the swing of my day has improved my mood. Sorry if I was depressing anyone before, but I was just trying to be honest with myself mostly.
Anyway, I think that while Weston is watching Thomas I will tidy up and get the house ready to vacuum. Having a clean house always makes me feel better. :)

Davin's Blessing Weekend

This Sunday we blessed our baby Davin. We had family trickle in starting Friday afternoon beginning with Ian's parents, Grandma and Eli and Emilee. We had to take 2 cars to pick everyone up from the airport and get all their luggage! We had a nice evening catching up and eating pizza and playing. Ian and I went with Dad to see "Ironman" too after the kids were asleep. It was a fun movie and it was nice to get out of the house minus the children.

Saturday brought Brad and Mel and Aly from Rexburg along with a stop in by my dad to load up his truck with furniture which he then drove up to Rexburg for the Curnow's. What a crazy driving weekend Dad had! We grocery shopped and made soup and got things ready for the blessing all afternoon then went swimming at Ian's parents hotel. Also of note, Aly got engaged Saturday afternoon to her boyfriend, Payton. They will be getting married in September. So CONGRATS!

Our Sacrament meeting didn't start until 2:15pm so we had all morning to hang and get ready and visit. We had more family come just for the blessing too. It was a very nice blessing, but a slightly ridiculously large circle of guys. Oh well. After church we had a luncheon at our house with soups and bread and treats. It was a little crowded in our small house, but we had a wonderful time visiting and catching up with each other. Davin looked so adorable in his little white outfit and shoes and Weston looked just as cute in his little suit. It was a long day but very very nice.

The last of the family headed out this morning. The boys and I spent the day tidying up and relaxing a bit. Definitely a successful weekend. Check out the pictures from all the fun events!

Booties

The title of this post has more than one meaning. I wanted to put up the pics of Davin wearing the adorable little booties that my cousin made for him, but I also want to lament the number of poopy booties I have changed in the last 24 hours. Wow. I literally have changed 6 of Weston and 8 of Davin. That equals 14 poopy diapers. Such is life with 2 in diapers, right?
Anyway, I dont have a whole lot to post about today, but it's been awhile. We have been in prep mode since we are having a LOT of family coming to town this weekend for Davin's blessing. I am cleaning a ton and doing lots of laundry and whatnot. I also caught yet another cold yesterday. Today is the first day it's really bad and I slept horribly last night. Hopefully I'll be able to shake this one a little quicker than the last one. We have played with friends a little bit this week too. Playdates are always fun and we have a great time visiting. I will be sad when I have to plan my days around Davin's 2 naps and Weston's 1 and we will only have a couple hours a day when no one should be sleeping. I am so excited to see all the family and we will post lots of pictures after the weekend. In the meantime enjoy these little booties of mine:

Curious George

It's our 100th post!!! Woo hoo for lots of blogging. We have such a fun event to blog about in our 100th post too. Today we went to the Murray Library for Curious George storytime. George came to visit and we read the first Curious George book. It was seriously packed! So many little kids. We got there a few minutes early so managed to snag a couple chairs. Weston stood along the wall so he could see, but ended up standing on the chair next to me for the story.
He was so excited about this since we have been talking about going all week. When George came in Weston waved and got all wide-eyed and said "Hi George" for the following 10 minutes, including during the story. It was so adorable. So we listened to the story then Weston got to go up (along with the hundreds of other children) to get a hug and say HI for real to George. I managed to snap one picture of Weston smiling with George without someone's back blocking the shot. Go me. No mean feat, trust me.
We had a great time and after storytime we went to Murray Park to play and then out to lunch with Dawnie and Mason. It was a very fun outing. Weston is currently having a hard time unwinding and settling down for his nap. I'm so glad that we have such fun things to do nearby.
