Yet another . . .

ear infection. :( Poor Weston has been sick on and off since Christmas. This latest bout has been all about the yucky cough. So today we went in and sure enough, his ears are infected again. The upside to multiple ear infections is that they are treatable with antibiotics. The downside is that toddlers think that antibiotics "medicine taste yucky" -Weston. Therefore, I always have to bribe Weston to swallow his medicine by saying he can have a cookie or chocolate milk or some other treat if he takes it all. This usually works. When it doesn't it ends in a crying moment for the both of us and usually a sticky moment as well when he spits the medicine all over himself and me. Here's to hoping that this latest round of meds will go down easily and he'll be feeling (and sleeping) like his sweet little self again soon.

Mission Failed

I was playing video games on the computer as Shannon was getting Weston ready for bed. Weston came in to give me loves before bed right after I had been defeated by the Dark Jedi Desann (this is of course a rare occurence...). Weston had previously seen my character up and about, and simply deduced that he was napping on screen.

Snowy Winter

We have had so much snow this winter so far! It started a little bit late--not until after Thanksgiving--but it has only all melted once since it started and we got another 8 inches that night after it had finally all disappeared. At first Weston wouldn't set foot on the snow, but this last Saturday after a fresh couple inches he went out and was wandering around in it and playing. Mostly he wanted to play on his fire truck, but he could only be in the garage; poor kid. Anyway, I thought I'd throw in some pics of us out in the snow.

Weston wandering around in the front on the walkway in front of the house.

Me and Weston laughing outside. He was excited because he saw some birds.

Trying to go for a ride on his fire truck in our one car garage.

Ian out shoveling the driveway. We may have to invest in a snowblower for next winter.

Post Christmas splurge

I dont know what is wrong with me, but I always just want to shop after Christmas, even though I have just gotten new stuff. We were out and about on New Years day doing some returns, getting a new calendar and checking out a few sales and I found a bed set that I really liked. It wasn't really on sale, but I knew I would regret it if I didn't buy it and then I couldn't find it again later, so I went ahead and splurged. I love it though! Check out the pics. . . Now we can redo the rest of the room to match the bedding. ;)

Happy New Year!

Our New Years turned out pretty fun. I had to go into work for a couple hours to put together the patient's little party (movies, food, etc.) and played a little volleyball with them. Later that night we had our friends Becca and Alann over. We just hung out, watched a movie, played Settlers and ate good food. Here are a couple pics of us with our glasses post midnight. Yay for having fun crystal goblets to toast in. :) Hope everyone had a good New Years!

The whole gang. All 4 of us.

We had to take a kissing picture too for memories sake. It was fun.

California Christmas

We had a great trip to CA and a very fun Christmas! We got to see a lot of extended family for the first time in awhile and spend some down time with my parents and sisters and the kids. Here are a bunch of pics from the trip. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday as well! Enjoy!

Weston could barely contain himself before the present game started.

Weston snuggled up with his new laptop computer at Aunt Teri's house.

My crazy mom and Weston checking out the nuttiness. ;)

Weston wasn't real happy about sharing the blue car with his cousin.

It was the Christmas of the hoodie. Aren't my boys adorable?!?

Ian and his new screwdriver on Christmas morning.

Weston loved sitting on Santa's lap on Christmas Eve.

Weston was in awe that Santa came to visit.

Weston's Birthday Party

While we were in California I decided to throw Weston an early 2nd Birthday party so that his cousins could come. He thought it was the best with balloons, fire truck sippy cups, fireman hats and cupcakes. We played "throw the balloon through the hoop" (which the kids all LOVED) and "freeze dance" (which mostly Mimi loved).
Weston did pretty well playing the games with his cousins but got pretty protective when he was opening his birthday presents. Eventually he managed to share a bit. :) He loved getting a mini vacuum from Grandma B and Grandpa Bob. He has been following me around with it now whenever I say it's time to vacuum. It was definitely a success. Yay!

The party set up pre-party.

Playing the hoop game. Unfortunately we were a balloon short so the kids had to take turns, but they managed.

Playing games.

The cupcake tray with candles. I was pretty proud of myself.
