Visiting The Easter Bunny!

Weston was so excited to see the Easter Bunny for the second time yesterday. He went right up to him all by himself and sat on his lap and stared. He asked about his basket and eggs and gave the bunny a high five. I didn't want to pay $20 for two 3x5 photos, so I just go this one on my phone. So cute. Happy Easter!

Last Days

Well, as you all know, Weston is down to his last few days of being our only child. I have probably been spoiling him more than normal since I think about the fact that I will not have as much time to devote to just him when the new baby comes. I hope that I can find a good balance of spending alone time with Weston and with the newbie though. I am so excited to be done being pregnant and have a new addition in our home. I have had a cold all week, which has been really irritating. I'm hoping it will get better in the next couple of days, but I'm usually prone to long, lingering colds that drive me nuts for weeks, so we'll see.
As much as I really didn't want to see any pics of myself, I decided to post the few remotely decent ones from my birthday. I don't think there was a single one of me actually smiling, but these are the closest. Today we were at the mall and I was walking the length of it, still slightly hoping to go into labor on my own before Monday, and shopping for nursing bras (oh the joy) and we saw the Easter Bunny there. We saw the Easter Bunny there a few weeks ago and Weston went and talked to him and sorta sat on his lap, but today he was much more interested since we've been talking about Easter since then. So we waited in line and Weston went up all by himself and sat on his lap and stared at him smiling. It was adorable. He talked about all the eggs and getting a basket, gave the bunny a high five and then got another set of bunny ears. I only have a pic from my phone of him sitting on the bunny's lap, but here are a couple of him at home in the front yard with his ears on.

End of Anxiety

The wait is no longer torture. I went to see my midwife yesterday and she asked if I would prefer an end point in this pregnancy and of course I said YES! So, if I don't go into labor on my own sometime between now and this weekend, then I am scheduled to be induced on Monday the 24th. I feel so much better about life now. I know that in less than a week we will have had this baby. Yay! I also like the idea of being home with Weston and the family for Easter and then going in first thing Monday to have the baby. I'm still not opposed to going into labor on my own before then, but if it doesn't happen, at least I have something to plan for. Yay! In the meantime, I have come down with a nasty little cold that is driving me nuts. I'm all congested and have a sore throat. I'm trying to lay low and take it easy, but you know me. I can't stay inside with a 2 year old all day, so we have still been doing some outings. Last night we returned to the Murray library for Jammie Storytime and they read all of Weston's favorite truck books. It was great. Today I really haven't been feeling well, so our outing consisted of Target and lunch at Wendy's. Anyway, I thought I would let you all know what the deal with baby waiting is. Happy Birthday Shan Shan

I just wanted to give a quick shout-out and happy birthday wish to my lovely wife. She is such a wonderful friend, wife, and mother. One of my favorite things she does is sit down with Weston and play piano while singing church songs. It brings such a nice spirit into our home. Shannon is so good with our wee-one and I know she will be up to the challenge of having two running around.

Playing, Waiting and Entertaining

Saturday was our Relief Society Enrichment activity. It was a really nice luncheon and speaker. I had a nice time and got to know a few new sisters in the ward. Since the majority of the ladies in our ward are old, they played a game where you bring an old picture of yourself when you were young and then we all guessed who they were. Mine was a picture of myself on my first day of school in 3rd grade, i think. Anyway, lets just say it was one of only 3 pictures that were in color. :)
While I was at the luncheon, Ian took Weston shopping for my birthday and then to the park (even though it was pretty cold and it started snowing about 2 hours later). Oh well. We got a taste of the spring weather and just cant quite let it go.
In the meantime I am just waiting and waiting for this baby to come. It's not late yet, but I'm really hoping that it comes this week. My midwife was out of town this weekend, so I was a little bit glad that I didn't go into labor this weekend and today's my birthday and I don't share all that well, so tomorrow or the next day would be ideal. My mother and sister in law are coming on Saturday and I really want to have a baby by then and be home for Easter, however babies have their own little timetables, so I guess we'll just keep waiting and see. We had a nice weekend spending some downtime together. Tonight Ian is throwing me a little party with some friends, so that should be fun. I think I will mostly just hang here during the day today. I will keep you all posted on the baby news, which I'm really hoping will be my next post. Send good "go into labor" thoughts my direction! :)

A Little "me" Time

I post an awful lot about Weston, so I thought I would post a little bit about myself. Incidentally, I'm amazed at how well Weston knows his ABC's (thank you Elmo and Sesame Street!). Lets see how well you know the answers to my ABC's.

My ABCs's

A - Attached or Single? Attached-love you ian!
B- Best Friend? definitely my hubby and my sisters, but those are pretty much given. Also, Aysun, Sarah, Tara and Becca (you can have more than 1!)
C- Cake or Pie? cake for sure! My favorite is either chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting that my dad makes or betty crocker rainbow chip (they made it all the time at CFC!)
D- Day of Choice? hmm . . . most days are the same to me since I stay home with Weston, but I really do like Saturdays best since there's a slight chance I might get to sleep in and also I get to see Ian!
E- Essential Item? Burts Bees chapstick and comfy Old Navy sweats
F- Favorite Color? probably red, but I also really like kelly green
G- Gummy Bears or Worms? eh. I could do without. I'm not a big gummy person. I prefer chocolate.
H-Hometown? La Habra, CA
I- Favorite Indulgence? spa treatments and getting my hair cut and colored.
J- January or July? oh goodness, how about january in CA (when its like highs in the 60's and sometimes 70's, ahh i miss home). I dont particularly enjoy either month in UT. It's either 15 degrees and snowy or 100 degrees and miserably hot.
K- Kids? 1.9- Weston just turned 2 a couple months ago and numero dos is on his way any day; today maybe :) heres to hoping.
L- Life isn't complete without? my family and friends
M- Marriage date? 11/22/03
N- Number of brothers and sisters? 3 sisters. Oh how i miss you ladies!
O- Oranges or Apples? I like apples better, but I really only like really fresh fujis or yellow apples. I hate all things citrus pretty much.
P- Phobias and Fears? Hmm. . . well the obvious one of losing a family member, but I am also afraid of being alone in the dark. I hate being home by myself in my house. I have an unnatural fear of people touching my neck. I hate being tickled. It makes me really angry (Ian learned quick). I'm not a huge fan of heights, but have no problem flying.
Q- Quote? Wow. I dont know that many off the top of my head, but I do love quotes. I guess one of my favs is "If anyone in this world deserves your love and affection, it's you." If I actually went and got the paper, then i could tell you who said that, but I have to remind myself to not be so hard on those closest to me, more specifically me.
R- Reason to smile? Hmm. . . it's been kinda a rough day, but I'm glad that I will only be pregnant for another week or so. Weston always makes me smile. I love how excited he gets when we play together. Ian will be home tonight and not working. I am finally making friends in UT!
S- Season of choice? Spring and Fall. I love the mild temps, the beauty and the feeling of change, but in a good way.
T- Tag three people? um, Joy, Jules and Becca
U- Unknown fact about me? I really am only 5 feet tall. Not 5 foot 1 or anything like that, just 5 feet even. OK, most of you probably know that. I have a bargain shopping weakness. I bought the most hideous shirt the other day because it was on clearance for 99 cents! It was totally compulsive. :)
V- Vegetable? no thanks. i really dont like any vegetables. I will tolerate eating carrots, zucchini, iceberg and romaine lettuce, celery, french cut green beans and sometimes broccoli, but really would never choose to eat any of them.
W- Worst Habit? procrastination . . . hmm this probably counts as that.
X-ray or Ultrasound? well if i'm pregnant ultrasounds are very fun, but if not and they're looking for ovarian cysts, then definitely NOT fun. I dont have a lot of x-ray experience since I have only ever broken a couple of fingers.
Y- Your favorite food? I pretty much just love food, but I would have to say in a nutshell, my favorite food is potatoes with chocolate running a very close second.
Z- Zodiac Sign? Pisces

Superman, Dresses and the Planetarium

For the past couple weeks Weston has been very enthralled with the kitchen towels. He pulls them down constantly and has done everything with them. He set the step stool with them as tablecloths, covered up my feet because apparently they were cold, he wrapped up his toys in them and pretended they were babies, he laid them on the floor and said they were sidewalks and he draped them over the back of the sofa and said they were ladders, which he proceeded to climb. But his favorite thing to do with the kitchen towels is wear them. He likes to wear them and be Superman and have Daddy fly him around the house while he quotes the movie Incredibles and says "no capes!" He also like to have me wrap them around him and wear them as a "pretty dress." Ian clearly prefers the cape imaginative play better. I don't really blame him but I think both are pretty adorable.

Today we decided we needed a family outing since last Saturday we didn't take Weston out of the house all day long. Poor kid. So we decided to go to the Gateway and visit the Planetarium. Weston was so excited to see the planets and stars. When I told him where we were going and that we would get to look at the planets he said "where Heavenly Father lives?" Funny, I don't think we've ever really talked much about that, but he is basically right. Anyway, while walking around before going inside we got to see a real live fire engine up close. Weston loved it! We had a great time at the Planetarium too! We looked at all the exhibits, played with the toys in the gift shop and saw a movie in the dome theater called "The Secret of the Cardboard Rocket." Weston thought the dome theater was so cool and he stayed awake and quiet through the whole movie. I think he really enjoyed it. By the time we left he was exhausted and in melt down mode, but we made it out with minimal crying and he came home and slept for 3 and 1/2 hours. Anyway, it made for a fun day out and about with a quiet afternoon home for Ian and I to get the new dresser put together and relax a bit. What a great weekend! :)
